Mr. Lam, a native Vietnamese who is bilingual and bicultural in Vietnamese and English, has studied computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. In the past, Mr. Lam worked as Vietnamese Youth Gang Prevention Director and Vietnamese language teacher, activity coordinator, and computer course instructor at Huong Viet Vietnamese language school in Oakland for more than 8 years. He most recently served as Data Manager/Events Organizer/Web Master of the 8-year CDC-funded project promoting cervical and breast screening of Vietnamese women, and for the San Francisco AANCART project funded by NCI.  He is currently the Webmaster for a 5-year NCI-funded hepatitis B screening project for Vietnamese and the Validation Manager for a 5-year NCI-funded R01 to study lay health educators among Chinese Americans.
